Statement

Date: Nov. 18, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) released a statement today following the sentencing of Mohammed Hamzah Khan, who tried to fly overseas to join ISIS:

"The sentencing of Mohammed Hamzah Khan reminds us that the United States must remain vigilant in the battle against ISIS at home and abroad. ISIS continues to threaten our nation's security and will try to infiltrate our country by any means possible. I continue to call on the Administration to protect Americans by bolstering efforts to prevent Islamic terrorist infiltration of Syrian refugee flows onto U.S. soil."
